The modular system of lengths is made up of the basic module and the submodules and multimodules indicated below. the basic module, indicated with the symbol m, consists of a length with a value of 100 mm. The submultiples, indicated with the symbols m/2 and m/4, are made up of lengths with a value of 50 and 25 mm respectively. The multimodules, indicated with the symbols 3m, 6m, and 12m, are made up of lengths with a value of 300, 600, and 1200 mm respectively. Clarifications on deviations from ISO 1006, which sets the basic module at 100 mm, but does not specify submodules and multimodules.
