Scope

Carbonitriding and subsequent treatments are carried out with the aim of giving the steel the following properties: 　——high surface hardness; 　——high wear resistance (generally greater than that provided by the carburized state); 　——possibility of resisting medium specific loads: 　——better fatigue resistance.
