This Internationa} Standard specifies requirements for electroplated coatings of nickel on ferrous and non-ferrous metals for engineering purposes.
Coatings primarily for decorative purposes are excluded, as these are covered by ISO 1458. For applications where corro-sion resistance is also required, ISO 1458 specifies coatings of minimum thickness up to 30 |am; for thicker coatings, the requirements of this International Standard apply.
