This International Standard describes methods for the prepara-tion of acid extracts required as the test solutions for the deter-mination of the "soluble" metal contents of paints and related products in liquid or powder form.
The acid extracts are prepared in 0,07 mol/l hydrochloric acid, which is chosen as an approximation of the acid in the stomach.
This International Standard is not applicable to dried or com-minuted paint films (see ISO 6714).
