This standard deals with protection of cables in parallel against overcurrent. The intension of this protection is to prevent the temperature rise in the cables from causing damages due to the overcurrent. The standard applies both to directly earthed and indirectly earthed systems, un] ess otherwise stated.
Current carrying capacities for cables are given in SS 424 14 24. Allowed short-circuit currents and impulse currents for cables are given in SEN 24 14 07.
