This standard applies to d.c. potentiometers having accuracy classes of 0.0001 ... 0.1 (1 ppm ... 1 000 ppm (parts per million)) (1 X 10—6... 1 X 10~3 (scientific notation)). It applies also to auxiliary equipment which is a built-in part of the potentiometer.
This standard does not apply to potentiometers in which the null balance is obtained automatically, to those which employ graduations on a balance detector to obtain a part of the indicated value, nor to external auxiliary equipment used with the potentiometer.
