1.1 This code applies to the installation of high density polyethylene pipe and fittings complying with NZS 7646* for gas distribution mains and services. It applies to the distribution of natural gas at pressures up to 4.2 bar (420 kPa), to gas produced from liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and to mixtures of LPG and air where the partial pressure of the LPG component does not exceed 2 bar (200 kPa).
1.2 This code does not apply to the distribution of petroleum liquids, including liquid LPG and liquid pen-tane, nor to the distribution of manufactured gas or mixed gas containing more than 1 percent aromatics.
1.3 Compliance with the requirements of this standard does not free the user from the need to comply with current New Zealand legislation:
