1. 1 This test method is used to determine the approximate length of cotton fibers, using a device called a fiberograph. The procedure is applicable to raw cotton separated from the seed in the gin. Using the fiberograph, the length of the fiber can be measured. fibers from dried press samples - bales, webs, ribbons and rovings* 1. 2 The results obtained with the fiberograph of a given specimen may not coincide with those found by means of a sorting device, particularly if specimens contain cut or broken fibers. However, the correspondence between the results obtained with the fibrograph and with the sorter is usually reasonably approximate.
