Scope
1.1 The purpose of this standard is to establis the definitions of the fundamental units in the International System of Units (SI). 1.2 The SI units were adopted by resolution of the 10th. General Conference on Weights and Measures (CGPM) in 1954. In 1960, the lla. conference formalized the system, expanding it and giving it the aforementioned name. These resolutions have been adopted by the is , International Organization for Standardization. 1.3 The international system (SI) is a coherent system of -units, that is the product or -quotient of two unit magnitudes of the system gives the magnitude of the resulting unit. In any coherent system, the unit of speed, for example, results from dividing the unit of length by the unit of time; the unit of area, multiplying the unit of length by the unit of length; and the unit of force, multiplying the unit of muse by the unit of acceleration.
