The physical and electrical properties of plastic and electrical insulating materials are influenced by temperature and relative humidity, which affect the test results. In order to be able to make comparis ns of the different materials or tests carried out in different laboratories, it is necessary to standardize the temperature and relative humidity conditions in which the samples will have to be maintained before and during the tests. The methods described in this standard establis the procedures for conditioning plastic materials and electrical insulating materials so that they meet the conditions indicated above.
