This standard describes the determination of the evenness of a paper or cardboard surface according to Bekk and applies to paper and cardboard up to a maximum thickness of 0.3 mm. The standard does not apply to very porous paper or cardboard. The dis riminating power of Bekk's method is better on more even paper surfaces. Bendtsen's method is better suited for less even paper surfaces (NEN 2012). The roughness can also be measured according to NEN 1839.
