Scope

The standard applies to the investigation of the physical properties of and transport phenomena in the unsaturated zone of the soil in the pressure head range from h = 0 to approximately h = - 200 cm. The method can be used to determine both a desorption (dehydration) and an absorption (wetting) retention characteris ic in the relevant pressure head range. Note NEN 5787 can also be applied for determinations in the range h = 0 to h = - 500 cm.
