This standard describes a method for determining the tensile strength, elongation at break and tensile energy absorption of paper and cardboard at a constant drawing speed. The calculation of the tensile strength index, tensile energy absorption index and the breaking length is also given. The standard applies to all types of paper and cardboard with the exception of corrugated cardboard, but does apply to the individual layers of this cardboard.
