The standard applies if it applies to the welded connection that:
——no brittle fracture or other crack phenomena occur simultaneously with fatigue;
——the welds are made using an arc welding process;
——the welds are made in unalloyed or weakly alloyed steel with a specified yield strength up to and including 355 N/mm2;
——the structures are well protected against corrosion;
——the structures are not located in an aggressive environment such as seawater;
——there is no failure with a small number of changes (low cycle fatigue);
——the structures are not exposed to low temperatures for long periods of time.
