This standard describes the determination of the roughness of a paper or cardboard surface according to Bendtsen and applies to most types of paper or cardboard. The standard does not apply to very porous paper or cardboard. The dis riminatory power of Bendtsen's method is better for less smooth paper or cardboard surfaces. Bekk's method is better suited for more even paper surfaces (NEN 2011). The roughness can also be measured according to NEN 1839.
