The standard applies to water with a chloride content of at least 5 mg/l. Notes 1. Bromide and iodide are also determined. 2. Interferences caused by sulfides, sulfites (see 9.1) and organic substances (see 9.2) can be eliminated. 3. The method is not directly applicable in strongly colored water (see 9.3) and in the presence of metals that precipitate as hydroxide or hydrolyze at a pH of 6 - 8 (see 9.4). 4. Phosphate does not interfere with the indicated method.
