Scope
The standard applies to the pigment zinc chromate yellow for use in paint and other corrosion-resis ant layers. The following types are dis inguis ed: a. Basic zinc-potassium chromate (type 1 a) Overall composition: K2Cr04. 3ZnCr04 . Zn(OH)2. 2HaO b. Basic zinc-potassium chromate, containing lead (type 1 b) Overall composition: K2Cr04. 3ZnCr04 . Zn(OH)2. 2H20 with a small amount of lead. c. Zinc tetrahydroxychromate (type 2) Overall composition: ZnCr04 . 4Zn(OH)2 The inspection methods are mainly intended for arbitration cases. They relate to the original pigment and can only be applied with reservations to pigments that have been separated from combinations with binders.
