This standard applies to electrical installations that fall within the scope of NEN 1010 and NEN 1041 and provides additional provis ons. This standard may also apply to the mining industry for electrical installations, both above ground and underground, where explosive gas mixtures can be created other than by firedamp. This standard applies to both fixed and semi-permanent installations. Where possible, this standard should also be applied to installations that can be considered temporary, such as experimental or pilot installations. This standard does not apply to a. electrical installations in areas where explosives are produced, stored or used; b. electrical installations in areas where dust and fibers are produced, stored or used, and where no particularly flammable substances are present.
