This standard contains special safety provis ons for the installation of electric arc welding equipment and related techniques. As such, it supplements NEN 1010, Chapter 41 "Protection against electrical contact hazards". The standard applies to equipment for industrial and/or craft use. Additional provis ons for the installation of electric arc welding equipment in an environment with increased ris of contact, for use by laymen, for special techniques (e.g. plasma welding) and for underwater welding are being considered.
