This standard describes a method for determining the apparent density of insulating refractory shaped products. Note The method of immersing the product in a liquid and determining the mass of the immersed test piece as well as the mass of the liquid-soaked test piece is not suitable for insulating refractory products, as their highly open structure may lead to gross errors in the determination of the mass of the soaked test pieces.
