This standard lays down the rules for sampling and the inspection criteria of refractory bricks, in order to be able to assess the quality of a batch to be delivered from the smallest possible sample with a pre-agreed reliability. The procedures described in this standard make it possible to carry out inspections with the aim of determining the extent to which pre-imposed quality requirements have been met. These procedures are not intended to determine the suitability of the batch in question for a particular application, or to compare different qualities. The standard does not indicate, except as an example, which inspection scheme (e.g. limit quality for supplier or customer) is used for the various assessments and tests. This must be agreed between both parties.
