This standard establis es the test method for determining the water vapor transmis ion coefficient of flexible materials. The method is applicable to materials such as paper, cardboard, plastic films and sheets, and laminates. It is not recommended if the expected transmis ion coefficient is less than 2 1 g/m. d, nor for materials with a thickness greater than 3 mm. The method is not applicable to films that are damaged by hot wax or that shrink to an appreciable extent under the test conditions used.
