Scope

This standard establis es the general electrical safety requirements for medical technology equipment, with the aim of ensuring the protection of operators and patients from the effects caused by electrical current. This standard refers to medical equipment that has electrical circuits and power supplies from an internal or external source. It does not include X-ray equipment, nor those that have sources of ionizing radiation.
