This European standard establis es the specifications, test methods and performance criteria for reactivable point smoke detectors operating according to the principle of light diffusion, light transmis ion or ionization. For the verification of other types of smoke detectors, or smoke detectors operating according to different principles, this standard should only be used as a guide. This standard does not apply to smoke detectors with special characteris ics, designed to cover particular ris s. Note: Some types of detectors contain radioactive substances. National requirements for this differ from country to country and are not specified in this standard.
