1.1 This standard describes a method for determining the variation in the dimensions of fabrics under the influence of the relaxation produced by the steam of a press which does not close completely so that the fabric can relax freely. 1.2 The results obtained by this method are generally not comparable to those obtained by other methods such as the is 3005 standard "Determination of the variation, in saturated steam, of the dimensions of fabrics" and the NBN G standard 55-010 “Variations in dimensions when pressing woolen fabrics covered with a pattemouille”.
