This European Standard gives the designation and specifications of filters against infrared radiation. A guide for the choice and use of these filters is given in appendix A. The general specifications of eye protectors used against infrared radiation are given in EN 166. This standard also deals with general conditions relating to protectors of the eye, such as identification. Optical test methods for eye protectors are the subject of EN 167. Non-optical test methods for eye protectors are the subject of EN 168.
