This European Standard specifies general criteria for the evaluation procedures of testing laboratories, including calibration laboratories, without taking into account the sector concerned. It is intended for use by testing laboratories and their accreditation bodies as well as by other bodies concerned with the recognition of the competence of testing laboratories. This set of criteria may need to be supplemented when applied to a particular sector.
