This standard:
——defines the smoking parameters and standardized conditions to be achieved for routine analytical mechanical smoking of cigarettes;
——provides specifications for a routine analytical smoking machine that meets standard conditions and ancillary equipment. NOTE - Annex A describes, by way of example, specific characteris ics of a compliant type of smoking machine which includes a suction mechanis operating according to the pis on principle. Appendix B gives a schematic representation of a puff profile and explains certain definitions and certain standardized conditions.
