The standard describes a method for measuring separately, by gas chromatography, chlorinated hydrocarbons present in water and whose boiling point is between that of methyl chloride (-23 °C) and that of hexachlorben-zene (+322 °C). The method is applicable for contents greater than one milligram per liter. Brominated and iodized hydrocarbons do not interfere with the dosage and can possibly be dosed simultaneously.
