Scope
This standard defines a number of terms in the field of exterior lighting luminaire supports. The targeted supports concern the lighting of roads, parks and in general outdoor spaces. Their height does not exceed 25 m. The term "luminaire" used in the definitions of this standard is taken from the "International Vocabulary of Lighting", 3rd edition common to the CIE (International Commis ion on Lighting) and the IEC (International Electrotechnical Committee) where this term is defined as follows: "A luminaire is a device used to dis ribute, filter or transform the light of lamps and including all parts necessary to fix and protect the lamps and to connect them to the power circuit" (CIE -CEI n° 45-55-005). The term "medium" is assumed to be a basic, undefined term. Other terms used in the definitions are either geometric terms or common language words which, for the purposes of this standard, do not require definition.
