This EURONORM describes the test methods allowing: 1.1.1 a) either to determine, as a function of time, the creep elongations of a steel specimen held at a determined high temperature T and subjected in this state to a specified tensile load directed along its longitudinal axis The test can be:
——uninterrupted: measurements of variations in the length of the test piece are made without interruption of the heating and without the tensile load being removed for the duration of the test — interrupted: the variations in length of the test piece are measured, after temporary returns of the test piece to ambient temperature, thanks to interruptions in heating, the tensile load being removed either as soon as the heating is interrupted, or only while the test specimen is maintained at room temperature. The method chosen must appear in the report of the test. 1.1.2 b) or to determine the time necessary for the rupture of a steel specimen maintained at a determined high temperature T and subjected in this state to a constant tensile load directed along its longitudinal axis The test can also be uninterrupted or interrupted.
