This European standard sets out the specifications, test methods and performance criteria for reactivable (non-destructible) point thermovelocimetric detectors without a thermostatic element. Fire detectors complying with EN 54 part 6 are not capable, under certain conditions, of detecting the start of a fire with a low rate of temperature ris (< 5 Kelvin/minute). They should therefore only be used in combination with other detectors.
