This method is applicable to nonionic, weakly oxyalkylated surfactants (1 to 5 oxyethylene groups) whose hydrophobic group is provided by an alcohol, an alkylphenol or a fatty acid (provided that the latter has a melting temperature below 30° C), provided that the product is soluble at 30°C in 1-propanol at a rate of 1 g in 10 ml. It is also applicable to lipophilic bases derived from alcohols, alkylphenols and fatty acids.
