This standard specifies the requirements for category III material lifts which are devices temporarily establis ed on a construction site, intended solely for the transport of materials and equipment, and which, by their construction, do not require access for personnel in normal service. This material lift necessarily includes a mobile equipment whose movement is guided. . In the case of practical difficulties, unnecessary tests, or new developments, exceptions to the literal requirements of the standard may be accepted by the competent authority in order to use other devices or methods, but only when it is clearly stated that equivalent security is ensured.
