This standard establis es the detailed classification of marine fuels belonging to class F (petroleum fuels). It must be read in conjunction with NBN T 52-850. All marine fuels can be used by ships in many similar applications but with some differences. Many marine fuels based on crude oil residues do not have a specific definition, however they can be included within the scope of this standard. This standard does not imply that all fuel categories lis ed in the classification are available in every port.
