This standard describes a method for assessing the fire behavior of textile floor coverings in a horizontal position when exposed to a small ignition source under controlled laboratory conditions. It is applicable to all types of textile floor coverings regardless of their construction or fibrous composition. This method can be applied to unfinis ed materials; in this case, the result obtained does not allow us to prejudge the fire behavior of this material in the finis ed state.
