1.1 This Malaysian Standard specifies requirements for copper naphthenate wood preservatives which consist essentially of a solution, in a petroleum distillate of boiling range 140°C to 270°C. of copper salts of naphthenic acids. This specification covers the composition of the preservative and general recommendations on application.
1.2 Two types of slightly different composition are specified, these being designated type 1 and type 2. The former is used for general preservation purposes and the latter is preferably used for application by double-vacuum treatment
or for use in absorbent timbers of small dimensions.
