Scope
This standard specifies about general method to measure optical rotation of solution or liquid state of chemical products. Remarks 1. Chemical products indicate whole materials that are created by chemical reactions, but it follows the specified method in the standard in case the measurement method that is different from the standard of individual product or product group is specified. 2. There are some chemical products that can't secure safety of test when use this standard because of strong volatility, explosiveness, radioactivity, etc of chemical products. Specified method in this standard is general method, and is applied to what can confirm the safety enough previously. 3. Because the sample shines light in the specified measurement method in this standard, material that is not safe about lights is excluded from the application range. 4. Optical rotation of chemical products is indicated as comparative optical rotation after measuring it at 20 °C usually. 5. Related standard of this standard is as following.
