Scope
1.1.1This Korean Industrial Standard specifies the Information Technology Equipment (including business equipment and its associated equipment) where 110/220V dual sync or 220V only for a single phase and 220/380V dual sync or 380V only for thee-phase are applied. This standard specifies the requirements necessary for the safety of the users or general people who has a possibility to treat to these equipments, including maintenance workers if specified specially. This standard consists of the system of the interconnected equipment or individual equipment and aims to secure the safety of the equipment to be installed, operated and maintained in accordance with the means specified by the manufacturer. For the equipment to be put on vehicles, ships or aircrafts, the equipment to be used in the tropical zone or the equipment to be used in the area over 2000m above sea level, additional requirements may be demanded separately. For the equipment to be used in the area where water can penetrate, additional requirements may be demanded. Regarding to the requirements and related test of this case, see Appendix 9. The equipments which satisfies related requirements of this standard are regarded as those suitable to be used for Process Control Equipments, Auto Test Equipments and the System which needs data processing device. This standard does not include the function of equipment and the requirements related to the functional features. 1.1.2 The following cases may need other requirements except those specified in this standard (1) The equipment to be used in the place where has a high temperature, dust, moisture or excessive vibration, where has an inflammable gas, and/or where has a possibility of corrosion or explosion. (2) The medical equipment to be contacted directly to the patient 1.1.3 This standard does not apply to the following equipments (1) The attached equipments such as air conditioning facility, fire alarm, fire extinguishing system. Power supply such as electric generator or transformer which is not incorporated in the equipments.Indoor wiring (2) A stencil duplication machine including offset, lithographic press which mimeographs the paper over A3 size.
