This Part of this Kenya Standard gives general guidelines for the enumeration of coliforms present in products intended for human consumption by means of the technique of counting colonies on a solid medium, after incubation at 30° C.
NOTES: 1. A limitation on the applicability of this Kenya Standard is imposed by the methods' susceptibility to a large degree of variability. The method shall be applied and the results interpreted in the light of the information under precision of the method.
2. This method can be applied to animal feedstuffs.
3. Where a special Kenya Standard exists, that standard shall apply.
