Scope

1.1 This specification deals with welded low carbon steel cylinders intended for storage and transportation of low pressure liquefiable gases, other than toxic gases, of nominal capacity, above 5 litres up to and including 250 litres water capacity and design pressure of 18 N/mm2. This standard lays down the requirements for the material to be used in the manufacture of cylinders, their construction, marking and testing.
