Scope

1.1 This standard, prescribes the method of conducting tensile test on light metals and their alloys, and applies to wrought products of diameter or thickness of 0.2 mm or greater and to castings. 1.2 Methods of tensile testing of aluminium and aluminium alloy tubes and wires are covered in IS : 2657-1964〓 and TS : 2658-1964〓 respectively.
