1.1 This standard applies to electrical signal condi-tioning devices, both analogue and digital, used in process control systems, used to condition, transmit, indicate and/or record, control or store information between the elements of same or different system(s).
1.2 This standard does not cover the external accessories associated with signal conditioning modules that may be necessary for process control systems.
