1.1 This standard includes Table 1 and three inter-conversion charts ( Fig. 1 to 3 ) intended for use in the inter-conversion of various units used in the estimation of percentages of ethanol in ethanol-water mixtures.
1.1.1 Table 1 shows the inter-relationship between:
a) specific gravity in air at 15·6°/15·6°C,
b) percentage of British proof spirit,
c) percentage of ethan,ol by weight,
d) percentage of ethanol by volume at 15·6°/15·6°C,
e) percentage of US proof spirit, and
f) specific gravity in vacuum at 150/15°C.
1.1.2 The values in Table 1 and the three charts [ Fig. 1 to 3 (p. 69-71)] are calculated by rounding approximately to the fourth decimal places in the case of specific gravities and to the second decimal places in the case of other units.
