1.1 This standard ( Part IV ) covers stainless steels listed in Table 1 which are usually employed for the manufacture of springs and resilliant parts subjected to corrosive influences under normal conditions of practical application.
Note — Many steels other than those mentioned in Table 1 exist for use against special kinds of corrosion attacks but the requirements for springs in such conditions are not large.
