Scope

This standard ( Part III ) covers the requirements of design, construction performance and testing of portable low pressure acetylene generators of carbide-to-water type to be employed in oxy-acetylene welding and cutting systems. It covers generators producing acetylene gas at pressures not exceeding 150 cmH2O ( = 0·15 kgf/cm2 = 14·71 kPa ) and having a maximum production capacity of 3·2 m3/h of gas.
