1.1 This standard covers requirements for thermoplastic insulated, multipair, multitriple and multiquad cables for use in instrumentation, signalling and communication applications, with individual or collective screens and follow-ing alternative outer protections:
a) Type 1, Overall thermoplastic sheathed suitable for rack/panel wiring;
b) Type 2, armoured and thermoplastic shea-thed, suitable for underground use; and
c) Type 3, cables with additional shielding to meet the requirements of reduction factor for power frequency shielding.
1.1.1 These cables are suitable for operation at rms voltages up to and including 300 V core-to-earth or 500 V core-to-core.
