Scope

This standard covers small single-phase ac motors of the capacitor split phase, shaded pole types, ac series and universal motors for voltages up to and including 250 V and having windings with Class A, Class E, Class B or Class F insulation ( see IS : 1271-1958* ) and output up to and including 1 500 W. Note —Three-phase induction motors are covered in IS : 325-1978〓.
