1.1 This standard applies to the following types of reactors:
a) Shunt reactors,
b) Current-limiting reactors and neutral-earthing reactors,
c) Damping reactors,
d) Tuning reactors,
e) Neutral couplers,
f) Arc-suppression reactors, and g) Smoothing reactors.
With the exception of the follwing reactors:
a) Single-phase reactors rated at less than
1 kvar and three-phase reactors rated at less than 5 kvar, and
b) Special reactors.
1.1.1 Where Indian Standards do not exist for such small or special reactors, this standard may be applicable in whole or in part.
