1.1 This standard specifies the main dimensions and methods of test for portable jacks commonly used for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. The jacks covered in this standard may be operated hydraulically or mechanically and in the latter case, they may be applied from below the vehicle or from its sides or end. The jacks may be designed for a single lift or multiple lift.
1.2 This standard does not include trolley type jacks used in garages.
